Samira Badran was born in 1954 in Libya to an artistic Palestinian family. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cairo (71-76) and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence  (78-82).  Now she resides in Barcelona – Spain.

My father, the artist Jamal Badran (Master, expert in Islamic arts and crafts, 1909-1999) played a decisive role in my artistic formation, and in my introduction to the world of art. Definitely he was my first professor and critic and encouraged me to study painting in Egypt and Italy. Thanks to his knowledge, experience and dedication in the field of arts and crafts, I have had the privilege of learning and absorbing the academic basics in drawing and painting under his advice and mastery.
